INTRODUCTION
A National Platform Advancing Accountable Extractives Governance in Kenya
The Kenya Oil and Gas Working Group (KOGWG) is a national civil society network established to respond to the governance, environmental and social challenges associated with oil, gas and mining developments in Kenya.
We work to bridge the gap between communities, policymakers and regulators by strengthening citizen participation, promoting transparency and advancing accountability across the extractives value chain.
KOGWG operates nationally, with a strong focus on frontier and resource-rich regions where communities often bear disproportionate environmental and social risks while benefiting least from extractive activities.

Our Purpose
Our work is guided by the belief that extractive resources should contribute to equitable development and not undermine livelihoods, ecosystems or constitutional rights.
Through research, advocacy, legal empowerment and coalition building, we support communities to engage meaningfully in decisions that affect their land, resources and futures.
